Members' Week: Forest Wilding - Exploring Wild Newtondale

Join our Forest Wilding Officer Mark, for Forest Wilding: Exploring Wild Newtondale, a 3–4 hour guided journey through one of the Moors’ most dramatic valleys, to see how Forestry England are helping nature to recover and thrive in the nation's forests.
Setting off from Station Elbow,  this approximately 8km medium-hard walk will cross steep, uneven and occasionally boggy terrain, so is perfect for members who enjoy a challenge. Along the way we’ll pause to uncover the valley’s wildlife, ecology and the unfolding story of Forest Wilding in Newtondale.
Arrive ready for the elements with sturdy waterproof footwear, layers, waterproofs, and a packed lunch and drinks, as there are no cafés en route.
Cameras, binoculars and ID guides are very much encouraged to help you make the most of this wild landscape.
Dogs welcome on a short handheld lead.

This event departs from Station Elbow, What3words //Objecting.shepherdess.jotting

We aim to make our events accessible to all; however, due to the terrain this event is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
